The Arts Conservatory For Teens is accepting applications for a qualified Visual Arts Instructor (VAI).
The VAI motivates students to develop an interest, appreciation, and enthusiasm for the visual arts.
The position develops knowledge, skills, talents, and creative awareness, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities.
The Visual Arts Instructor will:
- Maintain an active roster of 10-12 middle/high school students per quarter
- Instruct students in various styles of visual arts (to include painting, illustration, sculpture, etc).
- Develop clear and concise instructional lesson plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of preparation, instruction, and finished projects.
- Provide individual and small group instruction and adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques appropriate for the ages and skill level of students.
- Instruct students in the proper care and use of art supplies.
- Evaluate student performance and growth in knowledge and understandings and prepares regular progress reports.
- Host opportunities for artistic exploration including field trips to museums and galleries.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and executive team to create meaningful displays of student creativity and talent.
