Florida Humanities is now awarding $850,000 in rapid-response funding through “Florida Humanities CARES” grants to nonprofit humanities and cultural organizations that are facing financial hardship due to the coronavirus crisis.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply today in this streamlined, mobile-friendly application to bolster general operating expenses, enabling Florida’s most at-risk cultural partners to continue to make a deep and lasting impact in local communities.

Things to Know:

Apply online quickly – Application includes just three brief narrative questions and a short budget. No uploaded files required. Eligible organization may apply for up to $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000 to support general operating costs including salaries, rent, utilities, and other administrative expenses. Award amount will be based on the organization’s annual operating budget.

Funding decisions made in two weeks – Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with notice of funding made within two weeks of application submission. Funds will be available within 5-10 days of grant approval.

Funding for Florida Humanities CARES grants has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan.
