Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts ,which benefits Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater, is actively hiring Membership Event Specialists for the current season.

Under the direction and supervision of the Foundation Vice President and Membership Sales Manager, the Membership Event Specialist provides support for fundraising, member ticketing and membership events associated with The Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater. The position will act as an essential contact for members and theater patrons while providing exceptional customer service and guest experience. The position is primarily evening and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Attend performances and membership events in the VIP Member Lounge to cultivate existing and future donors.

• Assist with preparations and execution of membership events in the VIP Member Lounge, curated to engage various donor groups and prospects.

• Coordinate with hospitality team for the VIP lounge needs.

• Professionally represent both the Foundation and the Theater at all times.

• Perform any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to understand and support the needs and interests of members to sustain relationships between them and the theater.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills; effectively and gracefully communicate with staff, members, donors, prospects and patrons with maturity, discretion, and diplomacy.

• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of teamwork and shared responsibility.

• Ability to anticipate problems or to identify them before significant impact on service delivery, expenses or revenues.

• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

• Ability to maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and function of this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to work at events requires standing for extended periods.

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

COMPENSATION

Part-Time, hourly; $17/hour
