AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT
St. Petersburg City Theatre proudly presents DreamWorks’ The Prince of Egypt - The Musical
Directed by Nicholas Moore
Synopsis: “The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.”
Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.” - Music Theater International
Audition Dates:
Sunday, January 11th at 6:30 PM & Monday, January 12th at 7:00 PM
Please sign in no later than 15 minutes after posted start time.
Be prepared to spend the evening with us.
Although in-person auditions are favored and preferred, video submissions WILL be accepted. All video submissions MUST be submitted by Sunday January 11 at 3:00 PM. Any submissions after this time may not be considered. If you are opting to submit a video audition, please reach out to Nicholas for more information.
If you are submitting a video submission, to be considered for a callback, you MUST be able to attend callbacks in person on Wednesday January 14th.

What to Prepare/Bring:
• A 16–32 bar cut of a musical theatre song.
• Sheet music in the correct key (an accompanist will be provided) or tracks if you prefer
• Headshot and résumé (if available)
• Comfortable attire for movement
• A completed audition form available here!
• All will be expected to sing and perform a cold read as well as participate in a brief dance audition.
Callbacks (by invitation only) will be held Wednesday, January 14th
This is a vocally and emotionally rich ensemble show with many featured roles across all vocal types and age ranges. We welcome performers of all backgrounds and identities to audition.

Please Note: The Prince of Egypt contains sensitive material that may be distressing to some audience members and performers. Themes explored in this production include violence, oppression and depictions of slavery. While these elements are portrayed with care and artistic intention, they are essential to the narrative’s historical and emotional truth.
Important Dates:
- January 18 - Read Through 5PM (SPCT Lobby)
- January 18 - Rehearsals Begin
- March 20 - Tech Week Begins - There will be ZERO absences allowed from this point forward.
- March 27th Opening Night
- April 5th - Closing Night and *MANDATORY* strike immediately following the conclusion of the performance
