Syd Entel Galleries and Susan Benjamin Glass etc. at 247 Main Street in Safety Harbor, Floridais excited to Present - Hot Teapots. Opening Reception for the show begins on Saturday February 9, from 6-8PM and continues through March 16, 2019.

The Hot Teapot Shows brings together this wonderful group of award winning artists working in all different mediums creating their own interpretations of the Teapot.

The show will include teapots by Ellen Silberlicht – raku pottery vessels adorned with felt wool fibers, glass beads and precious metal clay; create the magic in Ellen’s sculptures.

Nancy Adams prefers the solitude and quiet atmosphere of working alone in her Oregon studio. She has spent her artistic career perfecting her skills and paying homage to what is most sacred to her--the natural environment. The heart of her work is the symmetry of her wheel thrown vessels. She airbrushes low fire glazes and underglazes onto the pieces in multiple coats before they are kiln-fired.

Noi Volkov was born in Russia. Art history was Noi’s passion. His interests in art history and clay inspired him to create his Art Teapot series. His teapots depict famous works, artists, and artistic movements in various ways to illustrate their influence on the art world. Salvador Dali , Andy Warhol and Picasso are just a few in the series.

The glittering jewelry designs of Jean Schlumberger were the epitome of mid-century elegance. Inspired by nature, his creations graced such notable style icons as Jacqueline Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn. This exhibition highlights the work of this innovative artist, placing his jewelry and objets d’art as inimitable examples of twentieth-century design.

Beginning his career as a designer of costume jewelry for couturier Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1930s, Schlumberger was, by 1956, Vice President of Tiffany & Co. with his own design salon at their Fifth Avenue headquarters. He drew inspiration from such exotic locales as Bali, India, and Thailand, and this is reflected by his lively, experimental designs that play with color, movement, and shape.

This exhibition brings together the extensive Schlumberger collection of Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon, donated to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts between 1985 and 2015. It is the largest, most comprehensive public collection of Jean Schlumberger’s work in the world.

Roy Zimmerman in Concert

Friday, February 22, 2018   7:30 PM

The Unitarian Universalist Church of St. Petersburg - 100 Mirror Lake Drive

Tickets: $25 at the door or $20 in advance https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4044825

The wait is over! Political satirist singer/songwriter Roy Zimmerman returns to the Tampa Bay area after many years with his unique blend of humor and social commentary. His music is a funny and forceful expression of resistance in the age of Trump. As Roy says: “In the current national nightmare, we need to laugh. And we need to hope. To laugh is to fight back. To hope is to fight back.” In a career spanning more than thirty years, Roy’s songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime, and his videos have garnered tens of millions of views on social media. He recently released his tenth album as a solo artist, “RiZe Up.” The concert will be held in the historic Spanish Colonial Revival-style Unitarian Universalist Church on Mirror Lake. Roy’s signature blend of heart and hilarity has never been more timely. Don’t miss this rare appearance!

More about Roy can be found at www.RoyZimmerman.com

"Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society's foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer." - Los Angeles Times

“The best musical satirist working today.” - Bay Area Reporter

"Roy's lyrics move beyond poetry and achieve perfection." - Joni Mitchell
