ARTS BUSINESS EDUCATION
Artist: Chad Mize - 2014

St. Petersburg’s Arts Grant Program application period is now open. Since in-person information and training sessions are not currently an option, the Arts Alliance is collaborating with the Office of Cultural Affairs and Grow Smarter, with support from the Foundation for a Healthy St Petersburg to help promote the grant opportunity online and explain the application process via this Zoom webinar.

The Arts Grant Program is for non-profit arts organizations, however this workshop is a must for anyone who will write any grant application: a board member, volunteer, or staff member applying for an artist award, creative business, or non-profit grant – especially as new grant opportunities arise due to the pandemic.

“We are committed to working with the Culture and Community Committee of Grow Smarter to increase awareness and access to encourage equitable economic growth for all our arts. We had planned to offer the session at St. Petersburg College’s Midtown Campus, however perhaps we can reach even more people with a Zoom webinar,” states John Collins, Director of the Arts Alliance.

Dr. Tashika Griffith, Grow Smarter Chair 2020 adds, “The St. Petersburg Arts community is diverse in talent, thought and vision. Being able to clearly articulate this vision offers possibilities for potential grant funding support. I am excited that through Grow Smarter’s partnership with the Arts Alliance, this online session will broaden its reach to ensure a wide array of artists can access this opportunity.”

Registration is free, BUT required.

Once you are registered, you will receive the Zoom meeting link and password via email.

The course is taught by a seasoned non-profit management professional, Barbara Mazer Gross. Barbara is an arts advocate with 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector.  She is currently the Chief Development Officer for the Florida Orchestra.  Previously she was the Executive Director of The Studio@620; Director of Client Relations for Tessitura Network; Director of Development of Ruth Eckerd Hall; and Director of Development for American Stage Theatre.  Writing and managing grants was a major part of all of her past professional roles, and she was Chair of the City of St. Petersburg Arts Advisory Committee for six years and well as a regular panelist for Florida arts grants.
