For the first time since inception, the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance will be participating in the 24th Annual Florida CraftArt Festival! This festival is a destination for tourists and local visitors to enjoy a fun-filled, visually exciting St. Petersburg weekend on November 20-21. Collectors and art lovers will be delighted by the creations of one hundred of the nation’s best contemporary fine craft artists. There will be artist demonstrations, food trucks, craft beers and a kids’ art activity tent. The two-day festival kicks off the Holiday shopping season and features handmade works in ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media and wood.
The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance will be presenting the St. Petersburg Ballet Company performing excerpts of the Nutcracker ballet, performances of Lindy Hop dance by The Cat’s Meow, as well as singers from The Arts Conservatory for Teens (ACT). The multi-talented artist Teresa Mandala will be creating her art both days inside the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance (SPAA) tent. The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance’s booth will be located right in front of Florida CraftArt!!
"Member Moments" is where the St. Pete Arts Alliance's Board of Directors goes out into the arts community to have one on one interviews with our Arts Business Partner Members. These video interviews will allow viewers insight into what makes the work of that artist so amazing and how they view the needs of the art community and the way in which SPAA responds to those needs.
Mary Anna Murphy, Board Chair for the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance had a conversation with photographer Beth Reynolds, Visual Storyteller & Community Engagement for the Morean Arts Center, about a workshop she was able to take using grant funds from the St. Pete Arts Alliance and City of St. Petersburg. Beth is able to now bring this new photo printing process to her classes at the Morean Arts Center.
