The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator is an entry level essential administrative and creative member of the ECE team who contributes to the growth, efficacy, sustainability, and success of the Education and Community Engagement Department’s diverse programming. The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator is accountable for meeting individual and departmental goals, including program goals of growth, efficacy, and sustainability. The coordinator will provide administrative support for day-to-day deliverables to all team members within the department.

Reports to:  Director, Education and Community Engagement

Position Summary:

The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator is an entry level essential administrative and creative member of the ECE team who contributes to the growth, efficacy, sustainability, and success of the Education and Community Engagement Department’s diverse programming. The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator is accountable for meeting individual and departmental goals, including program goals of growth, efficacy, and sustainability. The coordinator will provide administrative support for day-to-day deliverables to all team members within the department.  

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Collect, populate, and organize essential data and metrics for ECE programs.

• Coordinate string specialist, musician, and volunteer schedule for ECE programs.

• Manage assigned program details and relevant communications.

• Collaborate with ECE team members to execute timely program deliverables as assigned.

• Maintain and coordinate ECE program inventory, program request forms, and ECE event scheduling.

• Prepare, organize, and collate various digital/social media content, as assigned.

• Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

• The ECE Coordinator is expected to attend requested/required committee or task force meetings.

• Provide logistical support to assigned ECE programs.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Education

· Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or music administration preferred.

· 1-3 years of non-profit experience preferred.

· Excellent communicator that can effectively write, present, and speak about the importance of the intersections of the arts, community, and education.

· Ability to navigate working closely interdepartmentally throughout the organization.

· A deep commitment to the arts as a tool for transformative social change to build and connect our local communities.

· Basic computer skills in word processing, excel/spreadsheet, presentation software, and a working knowledge of the Google and Microsoft Office platforms.

· Strong management and organizational skills.

· Possess a proactive and positive attitude in a fast paced, high-volume department with diverse and robust programming.

· Ability to work independently, adhere to deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.

· Ability to creatively problem-solve within a variety of landscapes.

· Experience working with community members of all ages and backgrounds a plus.

· Experience working with young people, from early elementary through college a plus.

· Desire to develop and grow administrative, strategic, and leadership skills.

· Candidates with transferable skills outside of the field of music will be considered; some background knowledge of music and educational principles preferred.

Additional Information

This position requires some travel and work in the field. A reliable vehicle and license are required. This position offers a general hybrid work option; with a minimum of three days in the office.

This position offers and encourages professional development opportunities in various relevant topics throughout the season. 

Salary Range: $41,000-$45,000, including a strong benefits package. This is a full-time, exempt position and a strong opportunity for advancement, requiring evening and weekend hours when needed.

The Florida Orchestra has a budget of about $12 million.
