The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance (SPAA), a well-established nonprofit is the umbrella organization serving the arts and culture community, advocating for the arts; facilitating the growth of the arts community and driving arts-related economic development is looking for a highly motivated individual for the Development Associate position.
The Development Associate provides support and leadership for the growth and expansion of SPAA. These efforts include grant writing, events, corporate sponsorships, donor stewardship, appeals and all other revenue-generating activities. This individual will play a key role in advancing the goals of the organization and assisting with the implementation of the Comprehensive Arts Strategy, just recently launched and available on our website.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works directly with SPAA’s CEO and other staff, to secure grant and government funding, develop new approaches to engage prospective donors and corporations and helps to implement and guide strategic projects that result in SPAA’s goals and objectives
- Develops strategies and monitors trends in the performing and visual arts community within St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay region for advancing collaborations and enhancing coalitions
- Works with staff to ensure that the first-year goals for the Comprehensive Arts Strategy are fulfilled and benchmarked for the greater community.
- Develops and manages timelines for assigned fundraising initiatives to ensure strategic plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner
- Builds relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of SPAA
- Identifies and develops community and individual prospects for the organization's fundraising priorities and acts as SPAA ambassador
- Conducts meetings with prospects for purposes of discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Has an entrepreneurial, positive spirit that results in easy and effective team building, communication and vision
- Deadline orientated and resilient in achieving goals
- Proficient in data management, excel, Power Point, as well as being well-spoken
Requirements:
- Two - Three years of experience in development, grant writing, non-profit marketing or related field with some emphasis in Major gift fundraising
- A solid desire for professional growth and open learning
- Salary commensurate with experience, flexible/remote work environment and hours
