Under the Stars with the Dimas Sanchez Afro Latin Jazz Project & Tampa Bay Capoeira

The Under the Stars series at the Warehouse Arts District starts this season with the Dimas Sanchez Afro Latin Jazz Project & Tampa Bay Capoeira. Under the Stars is presented by WADA with support from Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, Creative Pinellas & EMIT.

Led by veteran Puerto Rican drummer and percussionist Dimas Sánchez, his Afro Latin Jazz Project fuses traditional Afro-Puerto Rican folk rhythms with modern Latin jazz. The ensemble performs original compositions and reimagined jazz standards, featuring intricate percussion and rich Caribbean-infused arrangements.

Throughout his career, Dimas has collaborated with an impressive range of internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles, including the Xavier Cugat Orchestra, David Sánchez, Giovanni Hidalgo, Eddie “GuaGua” Rivera, Néstor Torres, and Chuchito Valdés. He has performed at major festivals and cultural events worldwide, such as Mundo Latino in Paris, The Mastercard Jazz Festival in San Juan, Clearwater Jazz Festival, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, SunFest in West Palm Beach, and Toros y Salsa in Dax, France. Special opening act by Tampa Bay Capoeira. Tickets here: https://wadastpete.org/events/
