Filmmaker Robert Leonard volunteered to produce this documentary of the SHINE Festival’s Mural Legacy Project at the 22nd Street South underpass. These wonderful new murals were created by St. Pete’s own ZuluPainter and Thirst.
The film beautifully demonstrates how art can heal and help bridge communities, and transform difficult landscapes into beautiful community spaces. And it shows how hard these artists work, painting four vivid murals at a 45-degree angle under I-275.
We’re grateful for these beautiful new murals, and for our filmmaker’s time, skill and talent.
