Tiny Plays by Telephone For Kids and the Stressed-Out

Dial up a direct connection to live performers and the camaraderie of being part of a live audience as you listen to short, fun audio plays on the phone.

A range of 5-minute plays for kids and stressed-out grownups who need a laugh will be performed live on the telephone at 7:45 pm on school nights – in time for bedtime or a cheery moment of community to start your evening.

Live performances are scheduled Sundays through Thursdays, beginning May 17 and running through June 4. Plays will be performed by rotating casts, to employ more actors.

Performances will take place on a free conference call. It’s live theatre with performers and audience all safe at home.

Just make a donation to The Studio@620, and you’ll get the telephone number to dial in and listen to any or all of the performances. Thanks to your generous gift, the professional actors and directors out of a job during quarantine will be paid for their work. The Studio@620 receives a portion of the proceeds to help keep this vital arts space running.

The telephone number was shared with Pinellas County elementary schools – inviting any child who wants to hear a bedtime play to listen for free.

This project was organized by St. Pete playwright Sheila Cowley and the 10-person ensemble employs 7 St. Pete actors.

Here’s to making theatre in any way we can.
